Impervious

She’s immune to pain. She’s gone numb to heartbreak. She’s familiar with suffering. She’s aquatinted with fear. She has swam in the murky waters of betrayal. She’s navigated the dark rooms of grief. She’s knows rejection well. She finally cracked. Wrecked. Split. Broke. Shattered.  And now… Gaslighting bounces off of her. Hurtful words and projections fall on deaf ears. She’s learned to live despite never getting the apologies that were due. She’s unbreakable.  She can’t be stopped. She can’t be silenced. She can’t be burned. She can’t be melted. She can’t be drowned. She can’t be stabbed. She stands poised. She sleeps soundly. She’s paid her dues. She’s accepted her fate. She’s made peace with her past. She looks straight ahead.
